WE LOVE ALL DAY VISITS!

We visited Brasiliya (Riyasha’s and Princi's sister) and her mother-in-law, Vialet. Very large framed wedding photos stood on the floor of the front room...this is very common in Sri Lanka. On the wedding day, the bride is in white, and then at the homecoming reception, the bride wears a red Kandian costume. They had the pictures and flowers wrapped in plastic! Brasiliya’s baby boy, Niken, is so adorable!...so big and healthy and only 5 months old.

Later, we dropped by to say hello to Sujani's family.  Anil was home. Elder Lee talked to him and told him he loved him, and then went out on the porch and cried! Anil was abused by some foreigners--men from Scandinavia who groomed him by giving him gifts. They found him on the beach with his friends when he was 10 years old. They continued the relationship for years when they visited annually. They eventually let Anil marry. When Sujani got pregnant, he was afraid the one whom he called "his father" would be mad, so he gave Sujani something to make her miscarry, but it didn't work. Instead it caused Gefan's deformities, blindness, and deafness...tragic! The man that called Anil "his son" continued to give him gifts...Anil was educated as a tailor and later received a tuk tuk to be a taxi driver, and later a house. This horrible man had a room of his own when he visited Sri Lanka and passed himself off to Gefni as her "Grandpa". Over the years, he would have Anil bring other young boys to the house to be used as sex slaves. When Sujani found out the truth, she hated Anil, the "Grandpa", and the house!  She would not allow him to visit anymore.  During Anil's charade they were baptized and later sealed in the temple to each other and to Gefan. Postscript: After we were released,  Anil and Sujani sold the house and were divorced.

We then visited Rishelle’s family:  her mother, Sujani, and two brothers. Her sister was not home. The father deserted them...he lives in France.

At the end of our day, we climbed a mountain to visit Pathmasiri’s friend, Samantha, Son, Sameera (23), Wife, Damayanthi, Son, Aruna,(not at home), Daughter, Darshani (28) and Damayanthi's Mother, Isabel.  Samantha lectures at the Universities in Sri Lanka on organic gardening. Rumesh taught the first discussion. Elder Lee testified and showed videos. They were so golden...very receptive!!
