BRANCH LEADERS VISIT CHILAW

The Branch hired a van to take Branch Leaders and us to Chilaw. Sister Margret, Sister Thavamani (their mother) and Sister Esther (Devaneshan's wife and Margret's sister) and Brother Devaneshan (the Group Leader) were glad to receive us when we arrived! After a short meeting in Brother Devaneshan’s living room, we went out visiting Chilaw members. First we went to visit Margret's daughter, Shermila, her husband, Kumara, and children:  Enos 14, Shehan 11, Sanjana 10, and Praveen 5.

We stopped to knock some cashews down off a tree on the side of the road...and then were surprised to find out the woman that was helping us is married to a member of 10 years!  We went and found him and took a picture. When we got back to Brother Devaneshan's house, his wife, her sister Margret, and Shamali (President Saliya's wife) had lunch ready...rice, dahl, salad and some chicken chunks.

After lunch, we headed over to Sister Niluka's father's home...the Mormon Tabernacle Choir was singing in the background as the leaders gathered on the porch to lounge. Everyone shared how the visiting in different directions turned out.

Shermila (Niluka’s sister) was hoping we could visit her friend before heading home, so we got into the van altogether  for one last visit!

We road in the van a long way to meet Shermila’s friend from work, Sumithra.  Shermila has given her a Book of Mormon.  She wants us to come back to teach her more about the Book of Mormon!
